Bleh.
Every year I feel bullied by the month of March. It feels like it drags on forever! There are no long weekends, just 31 full days, and that in-between weather where Spring is almost here but still holding back. It’s as if March invited me over but is asking me to explain what I’m even doing here. It just feels..... off. So this year, I’m doing things differently. I’ve given myself permission to do the bare minimum, and while it’s been extremely challenging for me—I’m chronically up to something—it’s also been a bit of a relief. Doing the least has allowed me to lean into what I want to do the most. I relaunched this newsletter for moments just like this: to support us through life’s ups and downs, no judgment, just a little community and warmth. So allow me to be the angel on your shoulder urging you to step back, say no, and let go.

Building individual capacity by cultivating joy.
3 ways to cultivate joy by doing less:
Stop offering to help, especially at work. By stepping back, you allow others to step up and create space for yourself to focus on what truly matters. This is especially important if you’re at capacity or in an environment where your contributions are often overlooked.
Shift from self-care to self-comfort. Ask yourself: what will make me feel at ease right now? Prioritize what you need in the present without the pressure to “do it right.”
Put in less effort. 65% done but not perfect is better than 100% missing the mark or 0% complete. Letting go of the pressure to overperform frees up mental space and time.
